Are Free Slots the Same?
Of all of the different questions surrounding free slots, be they slot machines in the online world or the offline world, the one about similarity is perhaps the most difficult to answer. Depending on who you are, the answer to the question “are free slots the same?” is an obvious yes or an obvious no. This is the difficulty in answering questions like this and the only thing that can really be done to remain as impartial as possible is to present both sides of the argument and then let you decide for yourself which side of the argument you would like to believe.
The Yes Position
There are many people that will vehemently argue that free slots are the exact same as conventional slots. They will argue that the only difference between the two slot machines is the fact that one requires you to pay and one does not and that is not a difference that is actually essential to the slot machines. In other words, they will acknowledge that free slots do not require money and for that reason are different from conventional slots, but they will also point out that everything else about the two slot machine types tends to be the same.
For example, if you look at the slot machines that are available in the online casino world, you will immediately notice that the actual running of the slot machines is the same. While the Tomb Raider Slots might require money in one instance and might require nothing in another instance, the big thing to keep in mind is that it is the exact same slot machine in both instances. Nothing has been changed about the actual programming of the slot machine or the way in which it operates the reels and for that reason people taking the yes position will argue that free slots are the same as paid slots.
The No Position
Just as there are vehement people that will make that argument however, so too are there vehement people that will take the opposite position. The main argument for these people is essentially the reverse argument from the yes position. People taking the no position will start by acknowledging the point made by yes people, stating that it is quite true that in most cases there is no difference between the way in which free slots and paid slots of the same name are operated. This means that in functional terms, the two slot machine types are identical.
However, once they have established that point of agreement, people of this position tend to then go to the next level and suggest that the lack of payment is such a serious difference that by itself it is good enough to make the two slot machine types very different. Casinos are about gambling, they argue, and for that reason anything that is not gambling is very different.
Which view you take depends entirely upon the way you look at the problem, but one thing is definitely sure. You can get a similar functional experience from free slots if you choose to play them instead of paid slots.

Online Slots Gaming Becoming Easier for American Players
One of the most interesting things to come out of the recent economic crisis in the United States is the fact that the government appears to be greatly softening its position on online gambling within the country. With the massive defeat of politicians that backed the UIGEA in the 2006 midterm elections, people have found out that the online slots gaming issue is one that is coming back in full force. However, the people of the country have always been receptive to the idea of online gambling. It is only their politicians that have been making things difficult and as the latest online slots craze shows, the politicians are starting to lose heart in the battle.
There are many new casinos coming out that have now become casinos that United States players can play at. Many of these casinos are either slots specialist casinos or alternatively casinos that carry hundreds of different choices for people that want to play slot machines at online casinos and for that reason Americans are starting to just now experience the full and rich flavor of choice that is available to them when online slots gaming becomes totally legal within the country. Such a moment might be far off for many people, but the online slot machines themselves are within reach of many and for that reason, gaming in online slots is starting to shoot up from American sources.
If you want further proof of the return of online slot machines to the shores of the United States, just take a look at the giants in the industry. Microgaming is certainly an industry giant and that particular giant did see a lot of its online casinos close their doors to players from the United States in 2006. That has changed in a big way with the arrival of the Villento Brands Group. This is a group that was started by many experienced personnel at other online casinos and for that reason has brought to the market a professionalism that is very rarely seen in online casinos that are new to the market. Another thing that it has brought to the market is an acceptance of players from the United States and it is that acceptance that is really starting to grow the group into something much larger than many would expect at this stage of the development.
Whether other online casino groups will follow at this stage is unknown, but the road does seem to get easier with the passage of time for American online gamblers.

The Microgaming Corporation is the industry leader in online gaming software, with their online casino, mobile and poker software combining to reach hundreds of different online gaming outlets. Their software even lends itself to a whole network of poker known as the Prima Poker Network and all of their operations across the spectrum of online gaming make them one of the most successful online gaming corporations of all time.
One of the reasons that Microgaming is so powerful as a software platform is that Microgaming continually releases high quality online casino games to their member online casinos and these slots games keep people that play at those casinos consistently interested in the new developments. True to form, as people come back from the holiday slump in a ready mood to take a look at what is available to them, the Microgaming Corporation has released five new online casino games that will eventually be eligible for addition to their member online casinos across the world.
The first game is called European High Streak Blackjack and it is a game that is based on the rules of European Blackjack. However, in addition to being a normal blackjack game, it also has a side bet called the high streak. This high streak side bet gets better and better as players continue to win more and more hands. The high streak side bet is available whenever a hand is won by the player and a subsequent win pays 1:1 on the bet, with further wins paying 2:1, 5:1 and 10:1 respectively.
In addition to adding this table game to the list of casino games to be played, Microgaming has also released three new video slots. Little Chief Big Cash is a five reel video slot with twenty-five pay lines and is based on a Native American theme. Mark of Medusa is another video slot that is based on Greek Mythology and features everything from Pegasus all the way to Medusa herself. Finally, Polar Bash is a video slot with five reels and twenty pay lines and it is based on the Arctic Regions of the world with animals from those regions featuring heavily in the play - one can try the games for money or play the free slots for fun.
To end off their offering for the New Year, Microgaming has added to their list of fruity slot machines that in the offline world can be regularly found in pubs and restaurants with attached bars. Treasure Island is a three reel slot with one pay line that will do a good job of augmenting that part of Microgaming’s operations.
